Tonight 9,400 families in New York City will sleep in shelters. That's an all-time high.
Your help opens doors. For a homeless family, it's a front door.
Last year, Robin Hood helped prevent 3,000 evictions and placed more than 1,300 families in difficult-to-secure public housing slots. The rising tide of foreclosures this year threatens more New Yorkers than ever before. With your help we will be there for them with open arms.

Meet Frank
Frank served in the U.S. armed forces for two years. He has always worked, most recently in a perfume factory, but when the company was bought out he was laid off. "This time, nobody's safe," he says, referring to the recession. Within a few weeks, he couldn't afford to feed or shelter his wife and two young sons. Life on the streets seemed like the only possibility, but then help came just in time from a Robin Hood-funded family housing program. His family views this as a temporary solution until Frank can find another job.
