Life expectancy for the poor is 8 years shorter than for the wealthy.
"Poverty should not be an offense that is punishable by death."
-Dr. Harold Freeman
President and founder, Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention, Harlem
For New York's poor, access to health care is limited. Robin Hood brings caring doctors and medical treatment to families who would never receive it otherwise. Often these men, women and children have life-threatening health problems. Your support can raise their life expectancy and change the fate of so many.

Meet John and Denise
When John and Denise's third child, Giovanni, was born, he was only 2 pounds and had severe respiratory problems. Then, unfortunately, the hospital sent him home, without any medication or guidance. Shortly thereafter, John got a call at work. Giovanni was turning blue. Denise rushed him to a nearby Children's Health Fund mobile medical van, where Dr. Debbie Vasquez quickly attended to him. She then showed Denise how to care for him at home. Now, Dr. Vasquez is their family doctor. Children's Health Fund (one of Robin Hood's first grantees) sends a car to pick them up at their home and bring them to the van. Giovanni is doing fine.
